To help you prepare for your Online Colour Consultation, we have put together a guide that will help you choose the right consultation for your project as well as telling you a little more about what you can expect from a consultation and some top tips to help you prepare for your call.

Which service is right for you and your project?

Ask The Expert is our complimentary service. This is a 15-minute consultation carried out via zoom video call. This service is perfect for small queries such as what preparation is needed when painting a certain surface, what finish is best for a bathroom, or suggested colours for a child’s playroom? This service is also a great way to get an expert, second opinion so that you feel confident about your painting project.

Our 30-Minute Consultation service is the perfect option for small to medium sized projects. This service is designed to discuss 2-3 rooms in depth. Our 30-Minute Consultation is perfect if you are redoing an open plan space that incorporates more than one traditional room. This service has a fee of €50 which includes a €25 voucher that can be used against all products on our online store and takes place via Zoom video call.

Our 1 Hour Consultation service is the ideal option for large projects such as new builds and complete home renovations. If you want to create a colour scheme that flows through your whole home this is the option for you. In this timeframe our colour consultant will be able to discuss with you the ins and outs of all things colour for every room in your house. This service has a fee of €75 which includes a €25 voucher that can be used against all our products on our online store and takes place via Zoom video call.

What to expect from your consultation?

Ask the Expert

If you choose our ask the expert service you will receive an email prior to your consultation with a zoom link for your consultation date and time that you can simply click to bring you to your meeting. You will also be sent colour cards from our three collections so that you can easily discuss the colours during your consultation. 

Once you follow the provided zoom link at the correct date and time you will meet your Colourtrend Colour Expert. You will then have 15 minute to ask your designated consultant any queries you may have about your painting project so that you feel confident and ready to get painting.

30 minute and 1hr Consultations 

If you book either our 30 minute or our hour-long consultation options your consultation involves a three step process: Pre Consultation, The Consultation and a Follow Up.

Pre Consultation:

The Consultation process doesn’t just start when you log on to the zoom link at your consultation time. In order to make sure you get the most out of your consultation and receive the best advice possible tailored to your project, you will receive an email from our Colour Expert prior to your consultation. This email will ask a few simple questions about the project you are hoping to discuss in your consultation so that your Colourtrend Colour Expert can be prepared to discuss the needs of your individual project. Prior to your consultation you will also be sent colour cards from our three collections so that you can easily see and discuss the colours during your consultation. Lastly, during the pre consultation period you will receive a separate email with a zoom link for your consultation date and time that you can simply click to bring you to your meeting.

The Consultation:

Once you follow the provided zoom link at the correct date and time you will meet your Colourtrend Colour Expert. You will then have the opportunity to show your consultant your spaces so that they can get a real feel for the spaces, the light and most importantly your style. You can also ask them any questions you have and let them know your vision for your home. Throughout the consultation, your designated Colour Expert will make some suggestions of colours suitable for your home, which you can then discuss and alter in order to create the perfect scheme tailored exactly to your personality and style.

The Follow Up:

 After your consultation, your Colourtrend Colour Expert will create a bespoke consultation pack, delivered to you by email, which will include a summary of everything discussed on your call. Our post consultation pack ensures that you do not have to worry about trying to keep track of everything discussed during your consultation so that you can relax and enjoy the process. After your consultation you will also receive your virtual voucher code to use online when purchasing the paint for your project.

Top tips to ensure you get the most out of your consultation:

• Have a pen and a piece of paper- If you have booked our complementary Ask The Expert service, we recommend that you have a pen and piece of paper with you so that you can jot down the colours discussed during your consultation.

• Have your Colourtrend colour cards to hand- All of the colours from our 3 collections come in all of our finishes, Any Colour, Every Finish, so it is important to remember to have all three cards with you as our colour expert may recommend colours from any of these cards.

• Try the zoom link before your consultation – It is a good idea to test the zoom link before your consultation time just to ensure that you are able to access it before your consultation.

• Use a device that is easy to move around with – During your consultation you will likely need to show our Colour Consultant around your space, so it is best to use a device that you can easily move around with such as a mobile phone or a tablet.

• Get inspired – to make the most of your consultation, it is good to have an idea of what style you want for the space. You can get inspired for different interior styles and find what one suits you by having a look through our Instagram, Pinterest or Blog.

• Know what is staying and what is going – the other colours in your space such as your sofa, flooring and countertops can all impact what colours you choose for your walls, so it is important to know if these items are staying or if these are being changed. If they are being changed, having a sample with you to show the colour consultant is also a good idea.
