01
Preparation
  1. Ensure the area to be painted is clean, dry, and sound. Use a strong degreaser cleaner to remove any dirt, grease, or grime. It is important to clean first especially for areas that are frequently touched, such as around door handles and railings Allow the surface to dry completely before moving onto the next step.
  2. Eliminate any loose or flaking paint by scraping or sanding the area until you reach a stable surface.
  3. Fill all gaps, cracks, or holes with a suitable filler. For areas subject to movement, such as where plaster meets doorframes or skirting, use an elastomeric acrylic caulk.
  4. After filling, sand the surface with fine sandpaper to create a key for the new paint to adhere to and to smooth out any imperfections. Wipe down the area with a lint-free cloth to remove any dust.
