Is this paint tested to toy safe standards and what does this mean?
Yes. This product has been tested to EN71-3:2019+A1:2021, category III.
It evaluates:
· Migration of heavy metals
· Leaching of harmful chemicals
· Surface safety when touched or mouthed by children

Can I use this paint on kitchen cabinets?
Can I use this paint on kitchen cabinets?
It is not recommended for this purpose.
- This product has a matt finish, which is not ideal for high‑touch surfaces like cabinets.
- Kitchen cabinets require a harder, more durable, chemical‑resistant finish than a matt wall coating can provide.
For cabinets, Colourtrend Topcoat protect or Colourtrend satin or eggshell will deliver far better long‑term performance, resistance to oils, and ease of cleaning to ultra-high traffic areas.
What surfaces are unsuitable for this paint?
What surfaces are unsuitable for this paint?
This product will not adhere properly to:
- Silicone based surfaces (including silicone sealants, residues, silicone coated plastics or silicone contaminated areas). Silicone creates a nonstick surface that paint cannot adhere to. Any silicone sealant, residue, or contamination must be fully removed before painting. If not removed, the paint will peel or flake
- Unsealed or active resinous knots
- Oily or waxed surfaces
- Bare metal without appropriate priming
- Surfaces with persistent moisture or
water ingress - Unsound surfaces – extremely chalky or broken down that have not been stabilised
Silicone contamination is especially problematic - paint cannot bond to silicone, so any silicone must be fully removed before painting.
How does the self-priming feature work?
How does the self-priming feature work?
The formula contains advanced technology that allow it to bond to most interior surfaces without a separate primer.
However, specialty primers are still required for knots, stains, bare metal, and problematic substrates.
How washable is it?
How washable is it?
The coating is engineered for excellent washability. Tested to EN13300 for washability and coverage with Class 1 rating.
How important is surface preparation?
How important is surface preparation?
Preparation is critical. Even the most advanced paint cannot perform properly without correct prep. Skipping the basics will compromise adhesion, durability, and overall finish quality.
What preparation steps are required?

What type of roller gives the best results?
From our research and in‑house testing:
• The best coverage and hiding are achieved when using a high‑quality synthetic roller.
• Microfibre rollers, while popular, have been shown to reduce coverage when used with premium, high‑binder paints like this one.

• Fewer roller marks
For the smoothest finish and optimal performance, we strongly recommend avoiding low‑density microfibre rollers with this product.
